Our Chemistry
We Believe in “Crop Response” It’s not what you put out, but what gets in the plant... that counts. For over half a century researchers tested basic fertilizer materials for economic crop response. This process led the Ag community to believe in units of nutrient applied. Today however, many of those fertilizer materials have now been found to be somewhat inefficient. This means we have to apply extremely high rates to get an economic response. Publications in recent years have quoted researchers as saying that we have to apply more than the crop needs to get enough into the plant. This includes Primary, Secondary, and yes, even Micronutrients.

What is Our Secret? As early as 1982, we at DeltAg were striving to find a better “mouse trap”. We developed “Fulvore” as the basis for our chemistry. Fulvore is a proprietary formula that enhances membrane permeability and translocation. Old and new agronomy textbooks discuss Fulvic Acid. This is an acid radical of Humic Acid that was proven years ago to enhance plant membrane permeability and translocation. The problem has always been lack of the ability to commercially produce enough concentrated Fulvic Acid to be effective in plant nutrient chemistry. In 1986, DeltAg developed our proprietary Fulvore, which looks and performs like Fulvic Acid. Today, after years of developmental work and field trials, we utilize our Fulvore to carry our ‘active’ chemistry into the plant. While it is not actually identical to fulvic acid, Fulvore reacts in a manner that is very similar to Fulvic Acid. The best description is to think of Fulvore as a synthetic Fulvic Acid. With Fulvore, we can feed the plant with additions of specific Amino Acids, Vitamins, and Enzymes, all known to be crucial catalysts in plant chemistry.
Why Such Focus on Plant Chemistry? A plant must produce its own ‘catalysts’ for healthy physiology. Our crops must produce amino acids, vitamins, enzymes, and hormones to carry on normal plant physiology. For a plant to utilize any given nutrient, that plant must produce these ‘catalysts’. Specific catalysts, available for specific nutrient metabolism, must be produced and available in the plant. These catalysts will regulate, speed up, slow down or change the direction of reactions that occur in plants.
Can’t the Plant Make Its Own Catalysts? Absolutely! But this requires energy and healthy plant metabolism. Think of this concept as supplying vitamins to an athlete. This chemistry allows the plant to not have to work as hard to carry on normal activities. This ultimately preserves more energy for growth and yield. The DeltAg Chemistry is making it easier for the plant to metabolize nutrients. The result is a lower application rate of a given nutrient and less energy burned in the conversion process. This leaves more energy to be used for other functions. More efficient nutrient sources mean lower rates! It truly is a simple concept!

Benefit: The DeltAg products are economical and very effective at ultra-low application rates. Dealers can inventory many acres of treatment while utilizing significantly reduced warehouse space. Take advantage of DeltAg’s superior product line and provide your growers with great products that generate economical crop response.
